An Update on Board Member Responsibilities
The reports and Government statements on public sector transformation have raised expectations of new guidelines for the governance of State bodies. Events over the last year have led to calls for higher standards of governance. The Forum briefing on 5 February highlighted procurement, potential conflicts of interest, board composition, relationships with parent departments and the need to handle cross cutting issues as areas where board members should look for strong assurances.
