Risk Management - Meeting Requirements and Supporting Innovation

The benefits of effective risk management procedures include the identification and management of risk. This should facilitate Boards and senior executives decide the level of risk which is acceptable in the achievement of an organisation’s objectives. This event will provide the opportunity to hear from contributors and peers who are familiar with best practice in successfully implementing risk management processes and those who have a strong innovation focus.
The speakers will include Finbarr O Leary, Director of Internal Audit at the Revenue Commissioners, Aidan Horan, IPA and Deirdre Ni Raghallaigh (Dublin City Council) whose unit is charged with the encouragement of new ideas including the open data project for Dublin announced last month
The presentations and discussion will address risk management principles, frameworks and processes and include discussion of
• Risk appetite and innovation
• Risk reporting, risk registers and characteristics of supporting documentation
• Assurance to Boards and Senior Management
• Interpreting the requirements of the Code of Governance, ISO 31000 and other risk management guidelines
• Informing the work of audit committees and internal audit
