The Governance Forum will host a round table discussion for Chairs of Audit Committees of State Bodies on Friday 6 November (12.00- 2.00pm including light lunch) at the IPA offices, 57-61 Lansdowne Road. All Audit chairpersons of member organisations are invited to attend.

Recent events, the new Code of Practice, reports on controls in state bodies and other governance controversies have served to heighten the focus on the role of the Audit Committee.

• The round table will discuss issues arising for Chairs including
• Clarifying the scope of the Audit Committee’s activities and responsibilities
• Committee composition, skills and experience
• Relationships with internal and external auditors and other stakeholders
• Risk management roles
