Consultation on Combined Code
The Financial Reporting Council (FRC) is seeking comments from interested parties on their experience in implementing the Combined Code on Corporate Governance. The main purpose of this review and consultation is to consider whether the Code facilitates entrepreneurial success and the management of risk.
The Higgs Review
The Higgs Review reported on the role and effectiveness of non-executive directors, supporting the substance of the Combined Code while making some further recommendations.
The Combined Code
The Combined Code on Corporate Governance is published by the UK Financial Reporting Council. The report set down standards of corporate governance for companies listed on the Stock Exchanges in the UK and Ireland.
The Mullarkey Report
The Mullarkey Report set down rules of good governance for Secretaries General and other accounting officers.
Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies
The Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies, published by the Department of Finance (2001) stated that its objective was to provide a corporate governance best practice framework.
